Sweet birthday boy! {Mooresville, NC children’s photographer}

I had the pleasure of taking first birthday photos for a sweet little one recently!  I took some 6-month photos for this cutie, too, and he has only gotten more handsome 🙂  His little family is so lucky to have him!

Letters to My Son- February 2014

Happy birthday to my big 2-year-old!  I can’t believe it’s been 2 years!  You are so special.  You want to be just like your big brother and sister, but you are so unique and so caring.  It melts Daddy’s and my heart when you say, ” ‘Ove you, mama/daddy” or you’re so concerned about a crying baby in the store.  You’re still an expert climber and it drives me nuts, but I’m sure I’ll miss it one day 🙂  You bring me multiple shirts every morning to get dressed because you can only reach your shirts, but you constantly try to put them on as pants because you only know how to put on pants.  You’ve gone on the potty a few times and were so proud of yourself!  We love you, little one, and we know you’ll be a good big brother in a few months!

Such a sweet boy, so full of personality 🙂

Letters to My Daughter- Feburary 2014

Oh, my sweet girl……

We are so similar!  It makes me crazy sometimes how like me you are, but I think it’s ultimately a good thing 😉  It’s probably also why you’re such a daddy’s girl!  I love your daddy, too 🙂  I want you to know how much I love you, even when I’m exasperated.  You are so special.  I hope you never forget that, and I hope you can always trust me when I say it.

Noise {Life + Lens Blog Circle}

I get frustrated with the noise in my house a lot.  So much whining or screaming or talking or echoing or stomping or music…. the list goes on.  I miss quiet sometimes.  But then I think- the noise is here because of my wonderful children.  And I love them, and I embrace them, and I will thoroughly miss the noise when they are grown.

Those silly faces and the noisy laughter that comes along with them.

The noisy prayers in our house, especially on Christmas morning, because being reverent is a hard skill to learn.
(Yes!  That’s me!  We set the camera to take a photo every 20 seconds for a few hours Christmas morning to record our day exactly how it was, with all of us participating and fully present!)

The shrieking when the kids are playing, sometimes happy and sometimes not.

There’s so much noise I can’t hear myself think sometimes… but I love it.  I really do, even if I don’t some days.  Just one of the joys of being a mother! 🙂

Adorable New Little Boy! {Huntersville, NC newborn and family photographer}

A sweet little boy joined us on earth recently and I was lucky enough to take some adorable photos of him!  He made us (especially his mama!) work for these, but he was too adorable to think that we wouldn’t get any cute ones 🙂  Big brother was pretty sweet himself and this family is so blessed this Christmas with their two little boys!  I am so glad they could document this time in their lives, as crazy as it may be, in the home that they spend their time in!

Letters to My Children- December 2013

I am combining my letters to my daughter and letters to my sons this month 🙂  The holidays are about family and I am glad that we get to spend them together, so together on the blog it will be as well!

To my children:

Thank you for your patience with me.  I am trying to be ever more patient with you all.  Thank you for your unconditional love.  I will always, always unconditionally love you as well.  Thank you for your humorous actions.  I may not be funny, but you all sure are!

Thank you for your faith.  I try so hard to teach you all well, but I think you all teach me more.  Thank you for your perseverance.  I know life is hard sometimes, and while I wish I could protect you from everything, I’m so glad you’re always growing and improving– believe it or not, so am I!

I am so, so blessed to be your mother.  I hope I am able to convey that to you in my actions this Christmas season, not just in my words.  I love you all, more than you can imagine.
